What happens in a session?

Coaching is a focused dialogue between coach and client. As your creativity coach I invite you to think hard, feel deeply, dream big, and be great. I ask you to step up to the plate and live a vital, authentic life. In reality this means we use our combined noodle, get you into action and keep going until you get there!
The first session usually includes a results focused plan that helps the client to clarify objectives, set goals, overcome obstacles, an act on agreed milestones. See the free trial session for more information.
Together, we will look at your goals or subject from many angles. At the end of each session you will know what your next steps are, what you are going to do and how you are going to do it. You will learn how to break through any blocks that are in your way and feel motivated, inspired and energised.
- We focus initially on identifying your values, what is really important to you. We explore what you want to achieve and where you are in relation to that. We will look at what it will mean to you to have what you want and understand what is stopping you having it now. I ask you to consider questions such as where are you now in relation to where you want to be? What are your goals? Are they based in your values?
- We explore your alternative choices and work out practical strategies - a plan of action - to get you to where you want to be. In order to get what you want from any situation, we look at what strategies you will put in place to achieve what you want. I ask you to consider what are the areas of strength? What are the areas for improvement and focus?
We will draw out all the possible options, alternatives and opportunities available to you. You will surprise yourself with how many you come up with! It’s a bit like a brainstorming session. - I set deadlines with you and monitoring how everything is going. I help you stay on track, and keep you making consistent leaps forward towards what you really want. When you know you have an appointment to check in with your coach, the likelihood of your following through with the commitments you have chosen is dramatically increased.
- I get you into action to make these ideas, your goals happen. We will usually agree 'homework actions' with you - three or four or more (its up to you) actions to take you towards your current goals, with phone and email support where necessary in-between sessions.
You will choose what actions you are willing to take, (with some input from me if that’s what you want). This could mean changing negative thought patterns and attitudes, doing things differently, provide you with the tools, support and structure to accomplish more than you think possible. - I motivate and encourage you to make changes. Coaches see your potential at the times when you can't, and I consistently believe in you. I encourage you to do more of what works, less of what doesn't and to stretch you, sometimes out of your comfort zone, to do other things differently.
- I give you on-going feedback. Because from an objective perspective I can often see what you can't, I help you get really clear about what works best for you - and what doesn't.
- I act as your sounding board and use our skills in unlocking your potential.
